The chalk vignette I drew for Cielo Home in Portland last year included a mirror after Bunny Williams' faux bois beauty, trellis panels, and a console table with a rhythmically carved apron Frederic had photographed. As it often happens, once a design makes its way into one's work the likelihood of recognizing it elsewhere greatly increases. The second photograph is from The World of Interiors where I learned the pattern has a name: Vitruvian Scroll. Also known as the Vitruvian Wave, the pattern can be seen as a series of waves or scrolls viewed on end. The final picture is from our Spring Break, a railing in the Vancouver Art Gallery.
